Tails of Joy Newsletter – Winter, Spring, 2017

Happy Spring Everybody!

Time again to share all the happy stories you made possible with your generosity and support. Thank you to all who donated, who purchased shtuff from our website, and thanks to our monthly donors who keep the future bright for homeless and needy animals across the country. We love you and thank you. As we are all volunteer, 100% of every dollar that comes in is used solely to rescue animals.

Below are just some of the rescue organizations we made Little Guy Grants to this period. Whether they were desperate for a month’s worth of dog food, or needed help funding a capital project for new kennel doors, or medical help, networking support, anything and everything, Tails of Joy was there.

We made at least one, but usually two or three, donations this period to each of the rescues listed below, to follow up with health care and emergencies once we got involved in specific cases. We also helped several pet owners who had pet emergencies, but we don’t list their names.

Hope For Broken Angels (Houston TX)

“Hey everyone! We are a little short on funds for the specialty food for our seniors with immune issues and need a little bit of help to purchase the food and supplements needed. Anything that you can spare would be greatly appreciated and help us feed them for the next couple of weeks.”

Tails of Joy to the rescue!!

The Little Red Dog

The Little Red Dog rescue (based in Laguna Hills, CA) fights for all the dogs, red, blue, tan, white, brown, black and all colors in between. Their primary goal is to get all those rescued dogs into loving homes.

Tail Waggers Rescue

Tail Waggers Rescue is a unique On the Road rescue bringing high quality dog and cat food to the homeless to feed and care for their pets. Tails of Joy made many donations here this winter, buying coats, food, medical and shelter for homeless people with their dogs and cats in freezing weather.

Florida Boxer Rescue

All of Elayne’s after show merchandise from two Florida theater concerts went to Florida Boxer Rescue. A big Little Guy Grant!

Pacific Coast Dog Rescue

Pacific Coast Dog Rescue is a non-profit charity organization founded in 1998. They are dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating and re-homing dogs in need. Their licensed kennel facility is located in Burbank, CA, and is always at capacity due to the high number of unwanted dogs and the limited number of great homes.

Dogs on the Move – Pawsitive For Life

We helped get THIRTY dogs adopted into new homes. We helped Dogs on the Move get them on the road, out of Miami’s overcrowded, little-hope shelters, and to states where they all got homes. We donated to the January and April trips, #157 and #159.

Desert Dog Project

Saving lives, one paw at a time.

Paws Ranch Rescue

Paws Ranch Rescue and Animal Sanctuary is a non-profit organization that got its start in 2010 thanks to a publicly voted grant from Pepsi. They exist solely on grants, donations, and the help of  dedicated volunteers. Their goal is to rescue, rehabilitate, and re-home or provide sanctuary to as many pets as possible. Hundreds of abused, abandoned, and neglected animals have already been saved by PRRAS.

Baja Animal Sanctuary

The Baja Animal Sanctuary Mission: To provide a safe haven for the abused, abandoned and needy animals who enter their gates, to eliminate their suffering, to improve their quality of life, to reduce pet overpopulation by spaying and neutering, and to find them permanent, safe, loving homes.

We helped with Remy’s surgery, which then got her adopted!
We helped Ranger get the medical care he desperately needed.

Linda Blair Worldheart Foundation

Linda’s Birthday Wish is happening right now!

“It’s my birthday and I’m sending out my birthday wish – to rescue, rehabilitate, and re-home the wonderful companion dogs that are being abandoned at alarming rates. However, I need your help to make this happen. I’m asking you to participate in my birthday donation challenge.” — Linda Blair

Almost Home Animal Rescue League (Michigan)

D.A.S.H. Dog Rescue (Dallas, TX)

D.A.S.H. Dog Rescue‘s mission: To rescue abandoned Australian Shepherds and other similar herding dogs and match them with loving families and permanent homes in Dallas, North Texas and beyond.

Ruff Rescue (Colorado)

RUFF Rescue is an all-breed rescue serving the dogs and cats in Colorado and surrounding states. All of RUFF’s animals have been saved from euthanasia at city and county shelters across the US. RUFF is a foster-based rescue that provides pet adoption via organized events or home visits.

How We Can Help You: Get Your Money Back!

So many Facebook and Twitter peeps have been having financial pet emergencies and coming to Tails of Joy for help. We always do what we can, but the first thing we do is this: If you need financial help for your pet, we refund every donation you ever made to us for starters. So in essence, you can use us as your pet savings account. We’ve been here for fifteen years and we will be here if you ever need help for your animal in the future. The more you help others, the more help there will be for your pet if the need ever arises. And to thank you for helping us along the way, we guarantee at least another $100 donation for your pet when she is in need.

Shop TOJ

Shop Tails of Joy first. We’re always listing new items, and 100% of the price goes to rescue animals. Again, thank you so much for loving, and being kind to, animals. Wishing you and yours a happy and wonderful summer!

We don’t keep a bank account; a dollar comes in, a dollar goes out. We can only do what we do with your help. The more we raise, the more we give out. Thank you!
