Our friend who runs Tail Waggers rescue is driving pet food and water to South Carolina, seven hours each way. We donated money for lots of pet food, water, and gas.

“Maria found this dog abandoned in an alley tied to a pole. Doesn’t want him to go to a shelter where he’ll most likely be killed due to overcrowding. Dog is in an alley in downtown LA. Maria’s friend gave the dog food and water but cannot take the dog and he is still there in the heat and vulnerable to any horrible thing that can happen.”
We couldn’t leave him like that, possibly taken for a fighting ring. We committed to financially support his needs if a rescue stepped forward and saved him, and Much Love did. Picasso will now be vetted, fed good food, trained, and hopefully soon find his forever home. And maybe even learn to paint!

We provided three large indoor/outdoor kennel structures and four raised beds so far. Just that alone cost us over $1000. Rescue takes all your money, all your energy and all your heart.

Penny the Dog

A tiny 7 month old puppy came into the Baldwin Park shelter (high kill) in California after being hit by a car. Despite multiple injuries surgery might be avoided if she could get about 12 weeks of cage rest in a home. Our friend Pam, a dog lover and rescue advocate in Iowa asked if we could help pay to get Penny to her and she would do the rest. Tails of Joy paid the bulk of the round trip airline ticket for Penny and the foster to get to Iowa. Penny is pretty well all healed and Pam has adopted her. Happy Happy Joy Joy!

Naida and her band of rescuer/fosters take the most damaged desperate animals wandering the streets at the CA/Mexico border. They do the hardest work and they do it the best. We are always happy to support them. All of these dogs you see were rescued and ended up healthy and loved.

Desperate plea for help in the middle of the night! Our dear friend who runs B and B Rescue was standing on the porch outside when a coyote swooped in and grabbed her little dog! She was able to save her dog but needed large money at the after hours vet. She has saved so very many dogs over the years, we had to help save little Angel. Angel is very lucky, she is going to be fine.

We love helping them. They had a big fundraising bash coming up, so Tails of Joy bought two $800 tickets and then donated them back to be auctioned off to raise even more money.

Hope For Sweet Homes pulled her and found a foster. Tails of Joy paid her vet bills and provided food for as long as it took. And now she is happily in her Forever Home!! Fostering saves lives!

Siberian Huskies Buddy and Bebe
A young man who was getting evicted tried to place his two Huskies for half a year, posting over and over on NextDoor. Tails of Joy noticed the post the week he was getting evicted. We posted the dogs online and Judith from Baja Animal Sanctuary generously offered to take them. Amazing since everyone everywhere is full and there were 130 Huskies begging for homes in the same neighborhood that week. BAS is the best and Buddy and Bebe are now so happy running free under the trees in Rosarito. BAS will be keeping them for as long as it takes their owner to get back on his feet, or until he decides they should find new homes. Huge thanks to Dog Sitter/Dog Groomer Gay Ryan in Chatsworth CA. Not only is she very affordable but she donated her time and services for the two Huskies, going above and beyond.
Drive Dogs to Happiness: Fund a Bus

“My husband and I have a massive yard in the Pittsburgh back hills. I’ve been considering helping local shelters and rescues by picking up dogs and bringing them here. My fundraiser is to help me purchase and repair a shuttle bus or small school bus that will allow me to transport a small group of dogs to my property. As you may know, dogs who exercise have less stress and more social skills, which makes them more adoptable. Please consider helping me help them.”
